Fiber laser uses single core semiconductor diode as light source to pump active fiber. The emitted laser beam is contained in the optical fiber and transmitted through the armored flexible optical fiber. Active optical fibers are special optical fibers doped with rare earth ions. These optical fibers can emit extremely bright light from very small cores, thus combining several kilowatts of output power with excellent beam quality.
